In July 1999, I studied a 1year part residential course to successfully complete the study program in Christian Discipleship & Leadership Training, which gave me my credits to enter the Trinity Bible College accredited to Liverpool University on 12th August 2002. Between these times, I was a Chaplain at North Devon Hospital, where I then lived with my late husband. 2000 June 27th – I gained a certificate with Women’s Ministry Institute – Heart After God. The Spiritual Foundation of a Woman in Ministry. In January 2007, I was ordained as a Reverend in the office of Pastor (United Church of Christ Apostolic Worldwide. (Certificated)
Before returning to Thanet as God so directed my life, I became Governor of North Devon attached to the Board of Governors for South West Ambulance Service Foundation Trust, which was established to hold the Board of the Trust to account – during my 3year term of office I served first as Deputy Lead Governor and Lead Governor – elected by my peers and was re-elected by the constituents of North Devon to serve a further 3-year term of office.
Since returning to Thanet in December 2013, I studied several certificated qualifying courses Qualifying as A Nutritional Therapist studying with the Health Sciences Academy on 6th March 2015. In 2014 I achieved Health and Safety and Safe Food Handler and obtained a 5-star certificate from Thanet Council for establishing my kitchen at home in order to serve the local community of Cliffsend Pegwell Bay Kent by establishing a successful Lunch club for the elderly isolated. Including staff training. I completed a course on 12th May 2015 in Healthcare Chaplaincy at Est Kent Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. And another in Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults/Mental Capacity Act/Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards/Domestic Abuse. In March 2016, letters other than BA with High Distinction were added after my name. I gained a diploma – successfully completing a course in Veterinary Support Assistant, meeting all the requirements of the College to be awarded a Diploma and entitled to use the letters O.A. In September 2016, I gained a certificate in Journalism and Print Media. From 2017 until June 2019, I studied at Life Church Bible School Folkstone and successfully completed all four modules of the course. Each part is certificated. In March 2017, I obtained a LEVEL 3 Certificate in Pet Bereavement Counselling which is actually a counselling achievement for Humans. Achieving a Higher Distinction. In April 2017, I became a certificated member of the Women in Ministry Network and also an Adviser to WFFI (Women of Faith Foundation International). In October 2017, I obtained a Prophetic Intern Commendation Certificate (The Inter Prophetic Alliance)
During the last election, I stood independently for MP North Margate. From 2017 until June 2019 – I studied at Life Church Bible School of Life Ministry, Folkstone, and successfully completed all four modules of the course. Each part is certificated. I also obtained the honourable place of Adviser to WFFI Executives and members (Women of Faith Foundation International).
Currently in January 2019, I received an Award from Thanet Community Awards Highly commended TCR Radio – In recognition of the outstanding contribution the organization or individual has made to the community of Thanet through charitable and community activity. And in February, My Husband Geoff and I received an Award of outstanding recognition for Couples in Ministry And a lovely trophy to go with it.
Something I feel very strongly about is AGE – it is ONLY a number. Older people are never written off – they hold a wealth of experience that can be handed on with the support and help of others. I was amazed to discover – when, in September 2017 – at almost 77 – I was the only person ever to have achieved a £4,600 scholarship to study at Kent College, Broadstairs, in order to pursue my love of catering for Chef’s degree and to also to follow my love for music. Let me encourage you – Never – EVER – give up! God has a PLAN for YOUR life, and it is not over until HE says it is!
