Aims and Objectives

Aims

A. To Establish a Community Outreach Project that will include community involvement.

B. To establish a Community Radio Club with a difference.

C. To Form a Community Radio Drop in once or twice a week.

D. To Establish a home and a recording studio for Thanet Community Radio to broadcast from and already established for over a year as an internet-based Radio Station freely available to all. (www.radio-tcr.com). Registered as Thanet Christian Radio.

E. To welcome the underprivileged/less fortunate and the elderly isolated.

F. Drawing people into society by inclusion in this project will provide a varied amount of interest. With funding, 6 to 12-week Courses could be made available to advance interest in Radio work in various categories ie – Presenting. It will be noticed the BBC has a high number of 10 pm News Presenters for instance. Also learn the art of being a DJ and presenting music shows. Gaining work in self-employment providing Jingles for other enthusiasts and voice-over work as well. All useful additions to add to a CV.

G. To combine companionship with purpose.

H. To Advance a further goal to establish an Art group.

Objectives

A. To House a Broadcasting Studio for Radio and share it with the Community.

B. To Establish a Radio Club and Community outreach drop-in Zone that will incorporate community use to make programs / Broadcast to the community/both Write and read stories for a Drama slot. To encourage Writers to write. Members of the community would have appointed time slots over a 2 -3 hour drop-in day, which might possibly be a Saturday, to adhere to in order to give as much opportunity as possible to other enthusiasts.

C. To support others to advance socially and/or entrepreneurial.

D. To encourage the elderly isolated to use their skills to help others advance.

E. To support all roles that will help bring the community into action.

F. To support and provide companionship.
